Konsolidasi di China

.

Berikut cuplikan dari artikel dengan judul : Are China's Carriers Looking At Consolidation?

China Telecom reportedly is reviewing plans to roll out service packages that bundle fixed-line and CDMA wireless services in anticipation of a possible restructuring of Chinese telecom operators.

In China today, there are six state-owned telecom carriers: China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, China Netcom, China Tietong and China Satcom. Some analysts have been saying most of these carriers want such a "restructuring," which really means mergers, as soon as possible "because the market is highly unbalanced, with China Mobile being the strongest operator and the fixed-line operators losing customers."

A widely quoted rumor has China Tietong merging with China Mobile, China Netcom merging with China Unicom and China Telecom acquiring China Unicom's CDMA business. Some of this could happen before the Beijing Olympic Games begin in August.

China Telecom are making preparations to acquire China Unicom's CDMA network and they will offer service packages that bundle broadband, personal handy-phone system (PHS) services, fixed-line telephone and CDMA mobile services.
